Environmental Disposal

How are my old tyres and batteries disposed of?

Easy Tyre is committed to looking after the environment and its natural resources.  Easy Tyre is a keen supporter of green initiatives like tyre recycling and finding the most environmentally friendly ways of disposing of tyres and battery waste materials.

Easy Tyre adheres to the Duty of Care Regulations, which are part of the Environmental Protection Act.  Easy Tyre will only employ the disposal services of a collector who has a valid Waste Carriers Licence, who takes the waste to a Licenced Recovery Facility, and issues  and records the transfer on a Waste Transfer Note.

What do they do with recycled rubber?

The majority of our tyres are shredded into a range of rubber granules and fine powders. The number of modern applications that utilise recycled rubber is increasing. This product may be used in items such as sporting and playground surfaces, building insulation, tile adhesives, civil engineering applications and even new tyre manufacture.

TPMS – A Simple Customer Guide
What is TPMS? TPMS stands for Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.  It’s a system that measures the pressure in the tyre and relays information to your dashboard.  Some more sophisticated systems can also send the tyre temperature but we’re not so interested in that. Direct TPMS vs Indirect TPMS There are two types of system.  Indirect TPMS is the poor relative.  There has been a spate of manufacturers using this system.  It’s not as accurate nor as informative.  An indirect system calculates the pressure rather than measuring it.  Calculations are..
Branded Tyres vs Budget Tyres

What we all understand is that budget tyres are the cheapest and branded tyres cost more.  Choosing the cheapest may not be the most economic option. Spending a little extra can actually give you better value over the life of the tyre. Tyre manufacturers invest a huge amount of money in producing tyres that meet safety and quality. Companies like Michelin and Pirelli tyres use more than 200 separat..
